According to Wu, Cyvers Alerts has reported that the 'Ponzi scheme' scams in the cryptocurrency field stole $3.6 billion in 2024, with most of them occurring on the ETH blockchain. These scams are cunning, using trust to lure victims into false cryptocurrency investments and then disappearing with the funds. The report shows that cyber threats in 2024 increased by 40% compared to the previous year. There were three main types of attacks in 2024 that resulted in significant losses: 'Access control vulnerabilities: 19 billion dollars in losses in 67 incidents; Smart contract vulnerabilities: 456.8 million dollars in losses in 98 incidents; Address poisoning attacks: 68.7 million dollars in losses in one incident'.
