The ETH Workshop Weekly (WiE) has officially ended, and the founder admits that a sustainable business model could not be found.
PANews reported on January 2nd that Evan Van Ness announced the official end of Week in Ethereum (WiE) on January 1, 2025. Van Ness stated that due to the Ethereum Foundation's (EF) symbolic support cessation, WiE was unable to find a sustainable business model. He pointed out that the EF's current perception of WiE's value has dropped, and there is also a lower level of appreciation within the community for non-developers or researchers' contributions. In addition, he emphasized that although there was an opportunity to continue operations through fundraising, he preferred to focus on meaningful new projects, and admitted that as a founder, he failed to transform WiE into a successful commercial product.
