Donald Trump became the first person to hold the US presidency to publicly pay in bitcoin.
On September 18, Trump visited the Bitcoin-themed bar PubKey in New York. Some patrons greeted Donald with applause, while others booed. Perhaps to ease the tension, he treated people to several dozen burgers, paying $998.7 in BTC using the Strike payment app, which runs on the Lightning Network protocol.
