Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, believes that Argentina's new president, Javier Milei, has given the economy an important place. "Something that a lot of today's politicians don't do."
"It's very different from what happens in the United States, where it feels like politics has forgotten about economics and what people care about." For this reason, he thinks that one of the strengths of the Argentine president is the way in which he has made known the role played by the economy.
Buterin made this revelation during his conversation with Argentine computer scientist Santiago Siri and Mauro Ordoñez on the Filo News channel. There he confessed that for about two years he has usually spent the holidays in the South American country, where he shares with the Ethereum community and has many friends.
"Milei is unique in both his vibes and his policies and has become famous in the world for his personality," says the developer. He adds that, "although the first impression he gives is that he is not educated, or intelligent and is like a madman, then when you listen to his speech and see the videos where he talks about technology you realize that he has quite deep ideas about economic and monetary policy."
