[Global Network Report] According to the New York Post, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed in a recent interview aired on the 16th that after tensions escalated with the Trump administration over the so-called "Big and Beautiful" tax and spending bill, American billionaire and former head of the Office of Efficiency Elon Musk changed his phone number and is no longer responding to Johnson's text messages.
Johnson accepted a media interview, which was broadcast on the 16th. Source of the image: US media.
"I sent him a long text message, and then he changed his number. Because after that argument, something happened," Johnson said in an interview. "(Later) I realized that the text message... he never even looked at it. So I was expecting to talk to him face to face. "We need to handle this matter well."
The New York Post reported that Musk didn't even give Johnson a heads up before cutting off contact with him. However, Johnson stated that this did not prevent him from reaching out to Musk multiple times through third parties, and he hopes Musk can reconcile with Trump.
"To be frank, I think the president himself actually thinks this way too, but at the moment, the relationship (between both sides) is indeed a bit tense," Johnson said.
According to reports, Johnson also stated that there are "multiple factors" behind the breakdown of the relationship between Trump and Musk, and as for the specific reasons, it is left for the public to judge; regarding his current relationship with Musk, Johnson said, "Clearly, I have no grievances against Elon."
Elon Musk was once regarded as a close ally of U.S. President Trump, having invested over $290 million during last year's federal election cycle, contributing significantly to Trump's victory.
