Prediction: Bitcoin Will Be Worth $1 Million in the Next 10 Years

When viewing Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) as an independent asset, it is undeniable that this is the asset with the best performance over the past decade. As of July 7, 2025, the price of Bitcoin has increased by more than 40,550% compared to the same period in 2015 – a figure that far surpasses the performance of the stock market, U.S. government bonds, or even gold during the same timeframe. Although no one can say for sure that the "miraculous" increases of the past will be repeated in the future, I believe that Bitcoin still has a lot of room for growth. In fact, I expect the value of each Bitcoin could reach 1 million US dollars within the next 10 years. Currently: Bitcoin has become a global asset Bitcoin has come a long way. From its early days being regarded as "the currency of techies" or an asset only suitable for cypherpunks, Bitcoin has now become a global financial asset with a market cap of nearly 2.2 trillion USD – comparable to the world’s leading companies. One of the biggest risks to Bitcoin in the past was government intervention, even the possibility of it being completely banned. However, that concern is gradually disappearing. The United States has planned to establish the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Fund, while the (SEC) has also officially approved spot Bitcoin ETF funds since last year – a clear sign that Bitcoin is not only not being eliminated but is also being officially recognized. Not only that, more and more large businesses are starting to buy and hold Bitcoin as part of their assets on the balance sheet. Financial institutions can also custody Bitcoin for clients without needing to hold additional capital reserves as before. Recently, Bitcoin has even been accepted as collateral for home loans – a significant step in legitimizing and applying Bitcoin to real-life situations. Bitcoin has far surpassed its original role as an experimental project. It has become a serious asset, accepted by both individuals and powerful organizations. Core factor: Scarcity drives value The main reason for the significant increase in Bitcoin prices over the past period is the increasingly clear awareness of the value of a scarce asset. The supply of Bitcoin is limited to 21 million coins, and the halving mechanism ( reduces mining rewards ) every 4 years, which slows down the issuance rate. The most recent halving occurred in April 2024, with the next one scheduled for April 2028. Meanwhile, governments – especially the United States – continue to spend excessively and print money aggressively. The money supply is growing larger, eroding the value of fiat currencies (fiat). In this context, Bitcoin – with its fixed supply – becomes an attractive refuge for investors seeking sustainable value. The Trump administration recently passed a major fiscal law ( "big, beautiful bill" ) that includes tax cuts, reductions in welfare programs such as Medicare and food assistance, but increases defense spending. According to the Congressional Budget Office ( CBO ), this law could lead to an additional budget deficit of $3.3 trillion over the next 10 years. No matter what politicians promise, the reality shows that spending and public debt will continue to rise – an extremely favorable condition for Bitcoin. The road to the milestone of 1 million USD With all the solid foundations in place, it's not surprising that I believe the price of Bitcoin will increase by about 900% more in 10 years, reaching 1 million USD per coin. Bitcoin is often compared to gold – as both are neutral, scarce assets with global reach. However, the market value of gold is currently at 22.2 trillion USD, about 10 times that of Bitcoin. Therefore, it is entirely possible for Bitcoin to catch up to or even surpass gold in the future. Moreover, Bitcoin has advantages that gold does not have: High mobility: can be transferred in just a few minutes via the internet. Divisibility and easy verification: one satoshi is 1 percent of a million of a Bitcoin. Usability in real-world transactions: cross-border payments, DeFi, NFT, etc. Suitable for the rapidly growing digital economy. Conclusion Bitcoin is no longer a "technology play". It has become a strategic asset in the global financial system. With its clear scarcity, recognition by governments and financial institutions, and a macro environment that continues to support it, Bitcoin could very well reach 1 million USD in the next decade. And perhaps, that number may still be modest when viewed in the long-term context as the world becomes increasingly digital and fiat currency loses its value.
