Oasys releases the technology roadmap for blockchain games, focusing on asset security and cross-chain interoperability.
Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap, Providing Three Solutions for Chain Game Development
Oasys, as a public chain focused on Web3 gaming, has recently released a new technical roadmap aimed at addressing the main technical challenges currently faced by the development of blockchain games. This roadmap revolves around three core directions: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.
Technical Challenges in the Development of Blockchain Games and Oasys's Response Strategy
Despite the continued enthusiasm for financing in the blockchain gaming industry, technological development still faces many challenges. Oasys has proposed corresponding solutions to these issues.
Continuity of gaming assets
In traditional Web2 games, the game assets that players invest time and money in often disappear when the game servers shut down. Although blockchain technology provides a foundation for solving digital asset ownership issues, the proliferation of modular architectures has brought new challenges.
Oasys has proposed an innovative approach: by mirroring game assets from a layer two network to a layer one network, it ensures the permanent protection of user assets even if the layer two data is discarded.
Interoperability of Layer 2 Networks
Oasys's second-layer network is called Verse Layer, and each Verse is an independent "small universe." To achieve interoperability between these "small universes," Oasys plans to introduce a cross-chain bridge, using a universal data format and standardizing APIs. This will enable users to easily and securely transfer data and assets between different games.
Ecosystem Scalability
Building a sustainable ecosystem is a significant challenge. Oasys works closely with ecosystem partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources, supporting ecosystem development and lowering technical barriers.
The Hub Layer of Oasys's first-layer network serves as a hub, providing game developers with comprehensive tools, SDKs, and an ecosystem. At the same time, the Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK) allows enterprises to quickly access preset ecosystem components, accelerating project launches and content development.
Short-term and Mid-term Planning of the Technical Roadmap
Oasys's technical roadmap is divided into two phases: short-term (within 1 year) and mid-term (2-3 years), aimed at keeping pace with the rapid development of the Web3 market.
Short-term plan (within 1 year)
Mid-term plan (2-3 years)
Oasys has made significant progress in its short-term plans. In May, several use cases successfully went live, including XPLA Verse in collaboration with Korean gaming giant Com2uS, and the blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on a well-known IP.
In terms of ecosystem expansion, Oasys recently partnered with Japan's SBI Group to enhance its influence in the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market. Additionally, Oasys has also collaborated with Kakao's Web3 gaming division Metabora SG to support its entry into the Japanese market.
Through these technological innovations and strategic collaborations, Oasys is gradually realizing its vision of establishing global standards for blockchain games, creating real value for players and developers, while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
