In June, the Paradigm website published an article titled "Intent-Based Architectures and Their Risks," bringing the concept of intent into the public eye for the first time. Related protocols and infrastructure developed rapidly, and the ETHCC conference in July became a hot topic in the crypto world.
Intent is not a new concept. The crypto space has been abstracting and automating various operations to the extreme, from aggregators to CEX, contract wallets, cross-chain DeFi, and more. There are also Chainlink and the recent automation middleware, as well as Telegram bots.
Intent also brings new changes. In the past, the core was product interaction, while in the AGI era, the core is human-computer interaction. AI/LLM contains immense potential to enhance encrypted interactions.

01, Top-Down Anoma and Bottom-Up Unibot
In the past six months, agreements, projects, and infrastructures related to intentions have gradually gained popularity. Instead of explaining the concepts verbatim, we will illustrate through two typical cases.
Among the many intention-related projects, the most dazzling is the Anoma Foundation, which completed a $25 million Series C round of financing at the end of May 2023. Transaction Processing: After matching, the transaction is submitted to the crypto mempool, and the validator sends the block packaged by the proposer to the execution layer, completing execution and validating its effectiveness, ultimately updating the state root.
The Anoma team has insight into the pain points of blockchain protocol layers. Looking back from Bitcoin's scriptable settlement to Ethereum's programmable settlement, the current application protocol architecture is limited, requiring at least one Web2 component, which cannot achieve counterparty discovery and resolution. They believe that the intent-centric Anoma architecture represents the third generation of Dapp architecture in the evolution of blockchain protocols, allowing users to define the desired outcome state, achieving efficient and customizable privacy transactions at the intent level, ushering in a new era.

Although institutions like CMCC Global, Electric Capital, and Delphi Digital highly praise Anoma, claiming that its intent-centric architecture has limitless future potential, currently, Anoma has only established a solid technical foundation from the top down, and we have yet to see exciting practical applications. On the other hand, the TG Bot has demonstrated the imaginative application of Intent in segmented scenarios using on-chain automated trading tools.
Unibot is a Telegram-based trading bot ( TG Bot ) that allows users to perform automated DEX trading through Telegram, providing features such as sniper buying, copy trading, DEX limit orders, privacy, and anti-MEV. Unibot replaces the cumbersome interactions of Uniswap based on Intent, offering a convenient DeFi interaction experience. Unibot has also spawned a batch of TG Bot clones, with the current total market value of the TG Bot track approaching 200 million USD.
Top-down Anoma is innovation, while bottom-up TG Bot is transformation. Anoma starts from an intent-based underlying architecture, but the team's progress is slow; TG Bot, although it brings users a brand new on-chain interaction interface, is not intelligent and has many security risks.

In the evolution from Web2 to Web3, the concept of intent in Web3 is not clearly defined, but there are some common understandings:
