Plume Network innovatively integrates RWA and Decentralized Finance to create a real asset Blockchain ecosystem.
Plume Network co-founder Chris Yin talks about the integration of RWA and Decentralized Finance
Plume Network is building a dedicated blockchain for real-world assets (RWAs). Its goal is to simplify the interaction of RWAs through encrypted channels, making them accessible and liquid like crypto-native assets. Plume combines RWA-Fi with Decentralized Finance, enabling users to easily lend, trade, and speculate on RWAs just like they would with crypto assets.
Chris explained that RWAs require specialized infrastructure to operate efficiently on-chain. Customization is needed for issues like permission management, compliance ( AML/KYC ), and liquidity. Existing chains like Ethereum have not been optimized for these functionalities, prompting Plume to develop its own ecosystem to support the seamless on-chain governance and execution of real-world assets.
Plume is tokenizing tangible real-world assets such as solar farms, oil fields, and corporate bonds. For example, users can invest in solar farms that have contracts with government agencies or schools for 30 to 40 years, thereby earning stable returns. These assets provide stable returns ( such as an annual yield of 12-15% ), with earnings distributed in the form of stablecoins and governance tokens. This allows investors to gain stable yield assets on-chain while enjoying the liquidity and flexibility of Decentralized Finance.
Chris addressed concerns about cross-chain liquidity by emphasizing advancements in bridging technology between EVM chains. These technologies have made the movement of assets smoother, and liquidity fragmentation is no longer a major issue. Plume focuses on building tools to facilitate the easy flow of assets and funds between networks.
Plume's testnet has achieved tremendous success, with over 3.5 million active wallets and more than 251 million transactions within just four weeks. The testnet has seen frequent activity, with users continuously transferring assets across chains, and over 150 protocols have been built on this network. This early success indicates that the market is highly interested in Plume's RWA solutions.
Unlike other projects that exist merely to tokenize real-world assets, Plume focuses more on RWA-Fi, which aims to grant these assets utility in a DeFi-native way. Chris emphasizes that most RWA projects today fail to attract the interest of crypto-native users due to their excessive focus on traditional financial methods. Plume's strategy is to integrate RWAs into the existing DeFi ecosystem, providing users with liquidity, flexibility, and yield opportunities.
Plume is exploring innovative speculative markets based on real-world data, such as Pokémon cards, sneakers, GPUs, and even social or economic indicators like crime rates or inflation. Users can leverage these assets ( for example 10 times or 50 times ), providing unique speculative opportunities. This opens up new markets for crypto users, combining real-world assets with the dynamic characteristics of Decentralized Finance.
Chris explained how Plume offers returns of 10% to 30-40%, depending on the asset and risk level. For example, users can deposit stablecoins into yield-generating assets such as solar farms or corporate bonds, earning stable returns paid in stablecoins and tokens. Plume aims to provide higher returns than traditional financial products, offering crypto-native users more attractive asset staking opportunities.
The Plume community is very diverse, with participants from Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The network attracts RWA enthusiasts and crypto traders. Plume's aggressive growth strategy includes building communities on a global scale and working closely with partners to expand the use cases of RWAs. Their focus areas include high-yield assets, active secondary markets ( such as collectibles like sneakers and Pokémon cards ), as well as innovative financial products for speculation.
Chris revealed that Plume will launch a native token, which will be an important part of the entire ecosystem. Token holders will be able to earn returns generated by various RWA projects on the network. The token will also be used for governance purposes and provide users with more ways to participate in the ecosystem. Through launch pads and launch pools, token holders can participate in RWA projects and earn stable returns.
Chris pointed out that institutions like BlackRock and Fidelity are becoming increasingly interested. However, the shift to public blockchains is progressing slowly due to the complexity of adopting decentralized systems. Chris predicts that institutions will increasingly recognize the advantages of open networks over private ones, and Plume is seizing this trend by building infrastructure that meets institutional needs.
Plume ensures the transparency of RWAs by collaborating with reputable custodians and monitoring assets in real time. For example, solar farms on the platform provide real-time energy generation and revenue data, allowing users to verify returns in real time. This transparency builds trust and mitigates the risks associated with tokenizing real-world assets.
Chris outlined the roadmap for Plume, including the transition from testnet to mainnet, expanding the ecosystem, and launching the Plume token. Plume aims to become the preferred platform for RWA tokenization and adoption, focusing on making RWAs more accessible and practical for crypto-native users. Chris emphasized that Plume is building for long-term sustainability, with plans to integrate more real-world assets and leverage emerging trends in Decentralized Finance.
