Solana ecosystem DePIN revenue reaches an all-time high with a surge in users across multiple projects.
Solana Ecosystem DePIN Track Revenue Reaches New Highs, Review of Major Projects' Performance in April
In April 2025, the revenue of the Solana ecosystem's DePIN track reached a new high since the beginning of the year, with a monthly cumulative income of $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%. This is mainly attributed to the stable growth of several major projects.
However, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly decreased, with the main projects maintaining around 87,000 active contributors. Notably, the number of contributors to smaller DePIN protocols has significantly increased, with one project's growth rate exceeding 100%, while the contributor growth for larger protocols has remained flat or slightly declined.
Below is a review of the performance of major DePIN projects in April:
India Market Wi-Fi Hotspot Project
A certain project is dedicated to deploying Wi-Fi hotspots across India to provide users with high-speed, low-cost internet access services. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption surged to 8000 TB, achieving a 2-fold increase; during the same period, device sales grew by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Mobile Virtual Network Operator Project
After a certain mobile virtual network operator opened free mobile plans to all users, the number of new subscribers surged by 125%, reaching a historic high of 36,000. Monthly revenue increased by 34%, reaching a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for 79% of that. In addition, the average daily offloaded subscription volume rose by 65%, and the offloaded data volume increased by 32%, both setting new historical records.
It is worth mentioning that since 2025, the overall number of active contributors to the project has shown a slight downward trend and is currently stabilizing at around 75,000.
Decentralized Mobile Network Project
A decentralized mobile network project has seen a continued growth in data offloading in April, with the average daily offloading volume increasing by 16%, marking a steady upward trend in data offloading for the project over the past 8 months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors still rose by 6%, reaching 732, setting a new historical high.
Large-Scale Wi-Fi Node Project
In April, a large-scale Wi-Fi node project added 535,000 WiFi nodes (the second highest in history) and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes in the protocol close to 4 million and the number of users nearing 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in count has surpassed 300 million, demonstrating that user stickiness remains strong.
GPU Computing Power Sharing Project
A certain GPU computing power sharing project currently covers 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps of throughput, with high-performance computing capabilities. In two months, the project achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to control and participate in the host's games in real-time.
DePIN Aggregation Platform
A certain DePIN aggregation platform is used to monetize idle resources, and the online duration in April has doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Decentralized GPU Computing Network
A decentralized GPU computing network focused on providing a distributed computing power market for AI inference workloads saw a slight increase in job completion volume and contributor rewards in April, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched AI collaboration project allows AI agents to operate on this network infrastructure or drive job growth.
Mobile Device Computing Power Sharing Project
A certain mobile device computing power sharing project saw its USD rewards in April increase by 27% month-on-month, rising to $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Idle Bandwidth Sharing Project
A project that connects the idle internet bandwidth of user devices to the network, providing a source of underlying data for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services, has set a new historical record for data collection in April, reaching 34.5 million GB.
Aviation Data Collection Project
Since November 2024, a certain aviation data collection project has seen the number of tracked flights increase to 150,000, with daily collected data points rising to 9 billion, representing increases of 7% and 29% respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Decentralized Map Network
The monthly mapping mileage of a certain decentralized mapping network remained stable in April, and its AI-driven platform for fleet management was officially launched that month, which will bring new growth momentum as more fleets join. Since February, the number of active map contributors for the project has stabilized at around 5,000.
Geographic Data Collection Project
A certain geographic data collection project remained stable in April, with user-driven mileage maintaining at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Decentralized Virtual Power Plant Project
A project centered around a decentralized virtual power plant (VPP) saw a 30% increase in electricity output in April. With the new smart energy efficiency analysis devices receiving 500 reservations, this growth trend is expected to continue.
Environmental Monitoring Project
A global-scale environmental monitoring DePIN project has surpassed 2 million user ecological data check-ins in April, with a growth of 12% in ecological data check-in volume; the total number of platform users has increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
