The first Batman of Bitcoin? Peter McCormack plans to buy his own police force.

Peter McCormack, a well-known podcaster about Bitcoin and owner of Real Bedford FC, claimed that he could tackle the rising crime in Bedford better than the local police. He has self-funded a pilot project providing security, with 10 security personnel patrolling the town center every Saturday. McCormack stated that the police have failed to protect the community, leading to many issues such as harassment of women and shop closures.

He surveyed residents about the issue of crime and invited them to a meeting to garner support. Although the use of private security is becoming increasingly common, their operating methods and authority remain unclear, as vigilantism is illegal in the United Kingdom.
