The Israeli military claims to have opened a new military corridor in southern Gaza.

Jin10 data reported on July 16 that on July 16 local time, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement indicating that over the past few weeks, the IDF's 36th Division has been conducting military operations in the southern Gaza Strip, specifically in the Khan Younis area, aimed at destroying the infrastructure of Palestinian armed organizations and targeting their militants. The statement pointed out that the IDF's 188th Armored Brigade and the Golani Brigade have been operating in coordination and have completed the opening of the "Magen Oz" military corridor. This corridor is approximately 15 kilometers long and separates the eastern and western parts of Khan Younis. The IDF stated that this military corridor is a key link in applying pressure on the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and undermining its Khan Younis Brigade.
