CoverDrop uses bait messages to protect whistleblowers from AI surveillance threats.
Gate News bot news, on June 30, Dr. Manny Ahmed, the founder of CoverDrop and OpenOrigins, emphasized the potential of "mass messaging" in protecting whistleblower identification in the era of digital surveillance. The whistleblower support tool CoverDrop collaborates with the blockchain company OpenOrigins, which focuses on data verification, to create a secure communication channel between readers and news platforms.
According to Dr. Ahmed, CoverDrop creates a series of false encrypted messages between readers and journalists, making all users appear to be whistleblowers. This helps to conceal the true identification of those leaking sensitive information.
He warned that even encrypted communications could expose whistleblowers, as they are among the few who have access to sensitive information. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly powerful, governments and intelligence agencies can use AI agents to analyze vast amounts of data and track individuals in more detail and with greater efficiency.
Dr. Ahmed calls for the urgent development of advanced defense tools to address the increasingly severe threats of privacy breaches.
