Gate.io News 14 December - According to Yonhap News Agency, the Constitutional Court of Korea formally launched the impeachment trial against President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 14th after accepting the National Assembly's impeachment resolution. The Constitutional Court received the original copy of the resolution to impeach Yoon Suk-yeol submitted by the Chairman of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Chung Kyeong-rae, at around 6:15 pm on the same day. A representative of the Constitutional Court stated that Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae, immediately after accepting the case, convened a meeting of the Constitutional Court judges at 10 am on the 16th to discuss the schedule for the impeachment trial. Moon Hyung-bae stated that the case will be promptly and fairly heard. The Constitutional Court decided to appoint two preliminary judges responsible for the pre-trial preparation and investigation of evidence in the case, and establish a legal research group composed of constitutional researchers. It is reported that the constitutional court judges have started studying the case individually, and the presiding judge has not yet been determined.
